How Poppy King became the Lipstick Queen.

If you're the girlie girl who never ventures from behind closed doors without her lip color beautifully intact, then you must already be acquainted with the reigning lady of lipstick, Poppy King! This Australian beauty maven was much like the girl next door who simply loved glamorously intense lip color. At age 18 the passionate novice recognized a local void and launched her own line of lipsticks and glosses called Poppy.

Twelve years later, King accepted an invitation to contribute her self-taught genius to Prescriptives in New York. After several years with the company, she felt the urge to go solo once again. King has returned to her entrepreneurial roots with the quirky new lipstick collection Lipstick Queen.

With just 10 shades--each of which comes in two formulas, Saint and Sinner--the collection has brilliant range! The hues start as soft nude and move into robust red. Saint is a lightweight texture that is sheer and moist. Its counterpart, Sinner, is a matte finish that is rich and creamy, for more of a risqué feel.

Since clothes have become more understated, just pucker up if you want to be a showstopper!
